EU-Backed “BlackBird Demonstrator” to Advance Six-Rotor CycloRotor Flight Technology

CycloTech has received a grant for the project “BlackBird Demonstrator” from the EU and the state of Upper Austria within the scope of the funding program “Investitionen in Beschäftigung und Wachstum/EFRE & JTF 2021–2027”, P2, M3.2 “Unterstützung angewandter Forschungs- und Demoprojekte sowie von Ökoinnovationen für mehr Energieeffizienz“. 

The “BlackBird Demonstrator” project covers the development and testing of a flight demonstrator equipped with six CycloRotors. The project will contribute to the demonstration of the key advantages of CycloRotor technology in flight, including easy transition from hover to forward flight, superior maneuverability, as well as gust and crosswind compensation and decoupling of the vehicle attitude from its flight path.
